Structured Cabling Installer
PSP structured cabling installation services are one of the leading structured cabling companies installing structured cabling for data networks. Structured cabling is the central core to all data networks in any establishment. We believe structured cabling is the vital backbone to any data infrastructure whether that be cat5e cabling cat6 or fibre optic cable. That is why our clients recommend PSP Data Communications structured cat5e cabling installation service for installation and support of all types of data cabling.
We install and support structured cabling throughout offices and schools in Cheshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, West Midlands, Yorkshire, Liverpool, Lancashire and London. Our cost effective network cabling service is now available in Manchester and surrounding towns like Oldham, Wigan and Rochdale.
Structured Cabling Installation - Do it Once Do it Right
Over the past years PSP Data have listened to their client’s and their requirements when it comes to structured cabling installations. We understand IT budgets are not what they were 5 years ago with ever ongoing effort to cut costs. Cost cutting has lead many towards deploying cheap structured cabling, which in the long run have developed problems with under performing data networks. We believe in a doing it once doing it right philosophy when it comes to structured cabling. PSP data cabling or structured cabling comes at a budget to suit you without compromising on quality.

Data Cable used in Structured Cabling.
Cat5e – Category 5 enhanced Structured Cabling
Cat 5e network cable is a 100MHz classification and can be in the form of
- Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
- Foil screened Twisted Pair (FTP).
Cat 5 e cable is an enhanced and much stricter version of Cat 5 that includes specifications for far end crosstalk. Cat 5e cable and connectors make it an excellent choice for use with
1000BASE-T. The stringent performance specifications of Cat 5e cable limits the length of Cat5e cable to a maximum of 100 meters (328 ft) for Ethernet networks or LAN networks. If you require Cat5e cabling installers or would like to discuss the type of data cable for your structured cabling systems contact our data cabling team on 01270 212211 to discuss your structured cabling installation
Cat 6 Cat 6a – Category 6 Structured Cabling
Cat 6 network cable is a 200/250MHz classification and can be in the form of
- Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
- Foil screened Twisted Pair (FTP)
- Shielded and Foil screened Twisted Pair (SFTP) (an overall braided screen within which the individual pairs have a foil screen)
Cat 6a network cable is a 500MHz classification and can be in the form of
- Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
- Foil screened Twisted Pair (FTP)
- Shielded and Foil screened Twisted Pair (SFTP) (an overall braided screen within which the individual pairs have a foil screen)
Cat 6 is the proposed next step up from Cat5e for structured cabling. With a much larger classification it is the preferred choice in Gigbit networks. Cat6 is backward compatible with Cat 5 and Cat 5e standards. It has a stricter specification for crosstalk and system noise than that of Cat 5 Standard. This specification shortens the length of Cat6 structured cabling. When used in 10GbaseT, Cat-6 network cable's maximum recommended length is 55 meters in a alien crosstalk environment, but only 37 meters when used in hostile alien crosstalk environment
Cat7 Cat7a (Augmented) – Category 7 Structured Cabling
Cat 7 and Cat 7a network cable is a 600/1000MHz classification and can only be in the form of Shielded and Foil screened Twisted Pair (SFTP) (an overall braided screen within which the individual pairs have a foil screen). Cat 7 like the previous standards has much stricter specification for crosstalk and system noise. This is achieved with each wired individually shielded as well as the cable as whole. Cat 7 is a standard created for 10 Gigabit Ethernet over 100m of copper structured cabling
Fibre Optic Data Cabling
Fibre optic cable consists of a glass core which is used transmit information great distances and higher bandwidths. Transparent fibres are surrounded by cladding which has a low index of refraction. Data is passed through the fibre optic as pulses of light which is kept in the glass core by total internal reflection.
Fibre optic cabling is now used largely in replacement for traditional copper wiring in communication networks. The constant need for higher bandwidth (data rate) fibre optic cabling is the ideal choice for large communication projects.
