All Aboard the Celebrity Infinity!

The job was to fault find a Single mode fibre link which controls the Starboard TV satellite dish for MIL_SAT.

PSP engineers used Fluke power to light meters and Optical Time-Domain Reflector (OTDR) equipment to test two fibre circuits that run from the ship’s Broadcast suite and the communications deck.

On this occasion the fibre circuits tested out fine which pointed the fault to the media converters that send and receive RF signals which enable passengers to watch TV.

This fault finding procedure has enabled MIL-SAT to eliminate the fibre as the problem and can now concentrate on replacing the faulty equipment.

The good news is that the Portside Antenna is in good working order so passengers can still watch their favourite programs!
